Clear answers for the Mac.
Macapy is written by a Mac app developer, for people who just want the steps.
Hi, I’m Atif. I build software for the Mac. I started Macapy because a simple Mac question, like how to record your screen with sound or why System Data is eating 80 GB, usually means scrolling past ads and screenshots from three macOS versions ago.
Macapy keeps it simple: the answer first, then the steps, then the details for people who want them.
How we research and test
- Every how-to is checked against current macOS. Menu names, settings paths and keyboard shortcuts are verified against Apple’s own documentation and a real Mac.
- Built-in options come first. If macOS already does the job, we show you that before suggesting an app.
- App picks are independent. No developer pays to be included or ranked. We favor apps that are actively maintained, run natively on Apple silicon and respect your privacy, and we always include a free option.
- Articles get updated. When Apple ships a new macOS or an app changes, we revisit the guide and update the date at the top.
Affiliate disclosure
Macapy is free to read. Some links to apps may become affiliate links in the future, which means we’d earn a small commission at no cost to you. That will never change which apps we recommend or how we rank them, and any page with affiliate links will say so.
